On Friday after we got back from toboganning the kids made their own pizzas for supper. Chris and I decided we would like to go out for supper without the kids and do a bit of shopping. Thankfully, my parents were able to come look after the munchkins so this could happen.
Oh my, pure bliss! We could carry on a conversation without having one or all three kids interrupting us or without having to colour with them or cut up their food or be on them to eat their food. We both actually ordered an alcoholic beverage which we sat and enjoyed while relaxing and talking during our wait for our meal to arrive. After having our yummy meal we chose to have dessert...because we could! When we all go out for a meal by the time dessert arrives the kids have had enough of sitting and we've had enough of dealing with them. So, normally we even skip the kids desserts that come with their meals. Although, some restaurants have cookies that you can get to go, but guess who eats those later on.
As much as I love my children to pieces, I also love my husband and need to have a conversation without the kids or the tv getting in the way of it.
